Stray Birds is a book of erasure poems extracted by Rabindranath Tagore’s work of the same name. This Nobel-laureate, an icon in Bengali culture and literature, created a collection of 326 small poems/aphorisms on man and nature, from which I have lifted my own personal narrative.

I am extracting poetry from poetry, a method which provides a rich, yet much smaller pool of words to choose from– both a blessing and a challenge. […] This recalled similarities in my approach to photography; […] Every photograph is not only the inclusion of visual information, but also an exclusion of that which remains outside the frame.
