This weekend I moved back into the coastal studio that I’ve flourished in previous winters. An entire year has passed since I had the space to house equipment and materials necessary for my handmade works. It felt so good to organize…and then get messy! Currently lined up on the work table are a six-foot-long sheet of handmade paper from Thailand, plant-based pigments from an Indian village, a jar of sacred Ganga water collected in West Bengal, and a sticky gum used in Pata Chitra tradition that I harvested from several bael fruits (what a process that was!). It feels like being reunited with old friends. As I complete these, they too will be uploaded to the shop on this website.
